Mammoth Cave is a great place to visit - especially in the hot summer. You walk down into the caves and its' cool. Its amazing how nature formed these wonderful structures-- You can spend more than day if you want to view all the caves.
I just found out that Mammoth Cave was used as the model for dungeon/cave exploration in many classic role playing games. It all started with "Colossal Cave Adventure" a text-adventure game.
