How do you get a working link to your Google My Map?

If you submit a Google My Map, the link must contain the unique msid= value Google assigns each map.

You can share any map from any site on Ongopongo, but if it's a Google My Map it must have the msid number or the link won't work for other users.

this is the required part of a valid Google My Map URL

Copy and paste the URL (web address) from the "Link to this page" link on the top right of your Google My Map. Unfortunately Google Maps can sometimes give you a link that won't work for other users, so you'll have to play around with Google Maps to get the correct link.

where to get the URL link for a Google My Map

A Google My Map URL that works for everyone must contain "msid=" followed by a really long number. If the URL doesn't have this value, then it's not a Google "My Map". Sometimes this value doesn't show up after creating a new map. You can also try the "Email" link next to "Link to this page".
A valid Google My Map URL be really long like this:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=103839216593013966586.00000112...

The only part that really matters is the msid value. Your submission of a Google My Map link won't work if it doesn't contain the long MSID number in the link. In fact it actually works better when all you have is:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=103839216593013966586.00000112...

You can submit any type of map link (including links to sites like Platial or Wayfaring), but there won't be a preview map generated automatically.

No MSID = No Google My Map.
